Sean BotkinSean Botkin is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied with Martin Canin. Since that time, he has taken several major prizes at competitions, including the Gina Bachauer Competition, the Cleveland International Piano Competition at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Concorso Internationale F. Busoni in Italy as well as the International Music Competition of Japan. In addition to studies at the Juilliard School, he has worked with Adolph Baller of Stanford University, and Neal O=Doan of the University of Washington. Mr. Botkin was selected as one of the first Institute Fellows at the IUSB Piano Festival in November 1998 and returned to South Bend in January 1999 at Alexander Toradze’s invitation as a member of the Toradze Piano Studio. Since that time, he has appeared frequently with Mr. Toradze and others from the Toradze Studio including appearances at Settimane Musicali di Stresa e del Lago Maggiore in Stresa, Italy, and the Gilmore International Piano Festival. Mr. Botkin now is a member of the piano faculty of the School of Music at the University of Northern Iowa. email:Sean.Botkin@uni.edu |
